Case Description
The clinical benefits of conventional implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) therapy are partially offset by the morbidity mostly related to transvenous leads and related repetitive complications. An entirely subcutaneous ICD system (S-ICD) is designed to provide life-saving benefits of ICDs, while avoiding the shortcomings of transvenous leads, and has been shown clinical advantages in ICD indicated patients.
The activity features a compendium of video case presentations from Dr. Johan D. Aasbo from ProMedica Toledo Hospital in Toledo, Ohio, who shares his expert insights, practice experiences, and recommendations related to the S-ICD implant, pain management and alternative closure techniques.
