crm-01-02-0a4-f1.jpgIt is with a sense of pride and excitement that I present my first Editor's Letter for the inaugural issue of The Journal of Innovations in Cardiac Rhythm Management. This is a truly unique peer-reviewed publication, integrated with a web 2.0 platform that intends to become a readily available source of information that impacts the daily electrophysiology practice. Innovations in CRM and its online properties will provide a forum for the dissemination of valuable content, including emerging techniques and technologies, the practical applications of late-breaking data, and changing standards within the rapidly evolving electrophysiology field.

Innovations in CRM will be published monthly and will reach more than 11,000 clinicians worldwide, including electrophysiologists, cardiologists, heart failure specialists, fellows, and electrophysiology allied professionals. The mission of Innovations in CRM is to enhance clinicians' knowledge of developments within the field of arrhythmia management, including device therapy and evolutions in electrophysiology.

Innovations in CRM incorporates a format that places great emphasis on readability and practical relevance. The articles, discussions, and other features will focus largely on issues surrounding clinical decision-making, innovative therapeutic strategies, practice guidelines, as well as current trends impacting the management of cardiac arrhythmias, heart failure, and sudden cardiac arrest. Each future issue will include a special feature entitled the Fellows Case of the Month, which is designed to offer a unique forum for fellows to share their original research with the entire electrophysiology clinician community. On behalf of the editorial board, we encourage you to submit articles and case reports, as well as multimedia presentations for inclusion within the online version of the journal.

The editorial board is an accurate reflection of Innovations in CRM's intent and spirit and is comprised of world-renowned leaders who have dedicated their careers to improving the quality of life in their patients. Our esteemed editorial board will undoubtedly play an integral role in creating an impactful journal that will achieve the goals of enhancing clinical knowledge.

In addition to the clinical and scientific contributions, each issue of Innovations in CRM will contain relevant information on new devices and technologies coming from the industrial side; industry is indeed our partner in our universal effort to enhance patient care. The latest developments will also receive timely coverage as advancements dictate.

I'm sure I speak for the whole editorial board and the publishers in welcoming feedback — both positive and negative — so we can continually improve the product in content and format. Please keep in touch with your thoughts. It will be greatly appreciated!
