Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this educational activity, participants will be able to:

• Review the definition, prevalence, associated co-morbidities, and economic burden of Atrial Fibrillation (AF) in the United States.
• Identify the sources and location in the heart for AF.
• Discuss the surgical modalities for treating AF and Left Atrial Appendage Management (LAAM), including appropriate interventions.
• Examine the benefits of treating AF versus the risk of non-treatment.
