This educational activity has been developed to enhance the knowledge of electrophysiologists, interventional cardiologists, cardiologists, surgeons, and other physicians, and associated healthcare professionals surrounding evidence-based diagnostic and treatment strategies for stroke prophylaxis in AF patients.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Identify how to use and reverse NOACs.
  • Discuss the role of the Left Atrial Appendage (LAA) in AF-related strokes.
  • Evaluate novel oral anticoagulation and advancements in Left Atrial Appendage Closure (LAAC) for stroke prophylaxis in AF.
  • Review strategies for balancing stroke vs bleeding in clinical practice.
  • Examine randomized clinical trial and registry data.
  • Review appropriate NOACC and LAAC patient selection criteria.
  • Assess the cost-effectiveness, efficacy and safety of LAAC therapy.
  • Evaluate optimal LAAC clinical decision making strategies and procedural approaches.
  • Examine catheter ablation with LAAC, including patient selection, clinical workflow and outcomes.
